Die Cutting

What it is

A die cut is achieved by first creating a steel-rule die that is then used for cutting the material in the desired shape.

Trade die cutting, kiss cutting and perfing are our specialty, not a sideline.

We can die cut as small as a business card size, all the way up to a 40-inch full-size sheet. We can handle a myriad of different substrates from paper, board, and corrugated, to plastics.

We have a wide range of "stock" cutting forms at your disposal, with no charge for their usage. Or we can help you design a custom form to give your project an extra something.

Die cutting is an ideal way to produce anything from display boxes, header cards, point-of-purchase displays, to pocket folders.

Uses

• To create a unique shape

• To create die-cut coasters and rounded corners on business cards
• To make boxes or folding cartons
• To create die-cut windows for messages
• To create pocket folders, hang tags, boxes, POP shelf talkers, POP displays, greeting cards, stickers, ID cards
• To fashion irregular-shaped pressure-sensitive labels that are printed multiple-up on a press sheet

Specifications

• Materials that can be die-cut:
  All types of paper, corrugated board, foam and foam board, styrene and vinyl
• OLP has seven die cutting presses and can die cut sizes ranging from 2 x 3" up to 28 x 40"
• Please indicate how the job is to be printed – Work and turn, work and roll, or sheet wise
• Please furnish a blue line and always mark your press sheet with the side guide and gripper
• Mark both sides if printed front and back
• Please provide a B&W PDF and EPS die line
